The “Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the K-12 Classroom Challenge Grants Program” (SPECA) provides funding to promote and strengthen agriscience and agribusiness education by finding ways to encourage more students to enter science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) academic disciplines.
The total funding pool for Fiscal Year 2012 (FY-12) is $900,000 and the application deadline is January 20, 2012. It is administered by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
