FNDI’s Native Ag. and Food Systems Initiative Grants

The First Nations Development Institute (FNDI) is accepting proposals for its Native Agriculture and Food Systems Initiative (NAFSI), which will offer six grants averaging $45,000 through the generous support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to support projects working to address food systems, food insecurity, and food deserts in Native communities. Applications are due May 11, 2012.

Limited Scholarships Available for GLR Producer Summit

We are happy to announce limited travel scholarships are now available for the Great Lakes Region Food Producer Summit at Oneida on April 23-24.  Priority will be given to food producers with the greatest need.  The scholarship form is attached.  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so please get yours submitted as soon as possible.

Farmers Market Promotion Program Grant

The Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) has $10 million of grant funding for marketing operations including farmers markets, community supported agriculture, and roadside stands.  The application deadline is May 21, 2012.  Projects that expand healthy food options in food deserts will receive additional consideration.
