USDA Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Programs

USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is currently accepting applications for their Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) and Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP) to support local and regional food systems.  Applications for both program applications are due March 27, 2017.

FMPP grants fund farmer-to consumer direct marketing projects such as farmers markets, community-supported agriculture programs, roadside stands, and agritourism.  $13 million is available for FMPP, and the minimum and maximum awards are $50,000 and $500,000.

LFPP grants fund local and regional food business enterprises that serve as intermediaries to process, distribute, aggregate, and store locally or regionally produced food products. Projects also provide technical assistance and outreach, including planning grants for local food businesses.  $13 million is also available for LFPP for minimum and maximum awards ranging between $25,000 to $500,000.

Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program Grants

UDSA’s Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is currently accepting applications for their Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) and Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP). FMPP grants range between $15,000-100,000 for a range of projects improving direct market access.  LFPP assists local and regional business enterprises through planning grants ranging between $5,000-25,000 and implementation grants ranging between $25,000-100,000.  LFPP does require 25% matching funds.  Both applications are due May 14, 2015.

USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program & Local Foods Promotion Program

USDA’s AMS (Ag. Marketing Service) is accepting applications for the Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) to increase domestic consumption and access to locally and regionally produced foods and to develop new market opportunities for local producers.  Awards will range between $15,000-100,000.  A total of $15 million is available and the application deadline is June 20, 2014.

The related Local Food Promotion Program (LMPP) provides funds to support the development and expansion of local and regional food businesses.  Funding is available for planning grants ranging between $5000-25,000 and implementation grants for between $25,000-100,000.  A total of $15 million is available and the application deadline is June 20, 2014.  A 25% match is required.
