Registration now open for 2018 Great Lakes Intertribal Food Summit

Registration is now open for the 2018 Great Lakes Intertribal Food Summit that will be held at the Meskwaki Nation in Tama, Iowa.  Confirmed presenters and chefs include Loretta Barrett Oden (Corn Dance Cafe), Rowen White (Indigenous Seed Keepers Network), Sean Sherman (The Sioux Chef), Ben Jacobs (Tocabe), Claudia Serrato, Marlene Aguilar, Kevin Finney, and many more to be announced.

The early registration rate runs through March 31st.

USDA Farmers Market and Local Food Promotions Programs Now Accepting Applications

USDA is now accepting application for its Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) and Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP).  FMPP range between $50,000 and $500,000, and LFPP grants range between $25,000 and $500,000.  LFPP projects do require 25% matching funds contribution.  Both applications are due May 7, 2018.
