Conservation Innovation Grant

USDA’s NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service) is accepting applications for its Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) for projects aimed at stimulating the development and implementation of innovative conservation practices.  Pre-proposals are due February 24th, 2015 and selected applications will be invited to submit a full proposal for $20 million in total available funding.  Approximately half of this total funding will be set aside from projects addressing environmental markets and conservation projects that engage agricultural producers.

Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Development Grant Program (BFRDG)

USDA’s Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Development Grant Program (BFRDG) is accepting applications for efforts to develop and offer education, training, outreach, and mentoring programs to enhance the sustainability of next generation farmers.  Approximately $18.5 million in total funding is available for projects up $250,000 per year that can last up to three years.  The application deadline is March 13, 2015.  Click on the program link above for more information and the full request for applications.
