Oneida Workshop: White Corn, Farm-to-School, Community Outreach and More!

This FREE two-day event takes place on the beautiful tsyunhehkwa farm on the Oneida Reservation. “Tsyunhehkwa” means life sustenance in Oneida, and this farm features an organic garden, green house, grass-fed cattle and chickens, white corn, raspberries, and more.

Youth Opportunities

Want to attend a White House Kids State Dinner hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama?  The White House, in conjunction with the US Departments of Agriculture and Education and the website Epicuroius is hosing a recipe contest for children ages 8-12.  Delicious and nutritious recipes will be accepted from May 21st through June 17th, and winners will be notified on July 16th.  Entrants are encouraged to consult the MyPlate nutrition guidelines.  More information is available on the Let’s Move Program’s contest website and on Epicurious’ contest website where entries may be submitted.

Another contest opportunity is seeking K-8 student art submissions raising awareness for child abuse.  Twelve finalists will be selected, with their work being showcased on the PSC’s website during Native Heritage Month in November.
